Delete Your Merry Mandarin Account
This page explains how to delete your Merry Mandarin account and the data associated with it. You can delete your account directly from the app, or request deletion by email if you no longer have access to the app.
Heads up: Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. Your decks, review history, streaks, and any progress in your classroom will be permanently erased.
Option 1 — Delete in the app
Fastest path. Your account and data are removed immediately.
Option 2 — Request by email
For users who no longer have the app installed.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open the Merry Mandarin app on your Android or iOS device.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Re-authenticate with Google (or your email and password) when prompted.
- Confirm deletion.
Your account and all associated data will be deleted immediately and irreversibly.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you no longer have the app installed, send an email to support@merrymandarin.com from the address linked to your Merry Mandarin account, with the subject line:
Account deletion request
We will confirm your identity and process the deletion within 7 days.
What gets deleted
- Your Firebase Authentication account (email, display name, Google ID)
- All data stored in Firestore under your user ID (profile, classroom enrolment, subscription record)
- Your review log and quick-unlock snapshot from Cloudflare R2
- The local encrypted database on your device (when you uninstall the app)
What is kept, and for how long
- Crash reports retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days, then auto-deleted.
- Billing records for subscription purchases, retained by Google Play and the Apple App Store for tax and accounting purposes under their policies (we do not control this data).
- Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics with no link to your identity.
